Cheri Calcagno is a writer and speaker with a passion for teaching and motivating people to take care of themselves, enjoy life, and achieve their potential. Her unique approach of addressing the "whole person" by teaching how physical, emotional, and spiritual health are interconnected has proved to be an effective strategy in helping thousands develop a healthier lifestyle.

 

Cheri has worked extensively as a health educator and wellness coach, specializing in weight management and disease prevention. Her experience includes adult and pediatric weight management, wellness coaching in a clinical setting, and corporate wellness programming.     

 

As a speaker, Cheri has presented programs to a wide variety of audiences ranging from Fortune 500 companies and hospitals, to Mothers of Preschoolers groups and non-profits. She has taught hundreds of hospital and corporate classes on weight management and other health and motivational topics for clients like Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health, among others.

 

As a writer, she has published articles in newsletters and magazines, including a regular "Health & Fitness" section featured in Southern California Tennis & Golf Magazine. Cheri is also the author of Weight Whys: Thoughts and Beliefs for a Healthy Life. 

 

Cheri holds a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Nutrition, and Wellness. She is a Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant and member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and American Council on Exercise (ACE).

 

She resides in California with her husband and their four children and is currently a health professor at Chabot College, as well as a writer and speaker through her company, Inspiring Health.
